The Best Ping Pong Tables of 2024 Are...
Indoor-Only Ping Pong Tables
Indoor table tennis tables are typically built with heavy-duty steel frames and tops made from a thick sheet of medium-density fiberboard or MDF. This allows for the playing surface to be extremely consistent, but does not offer the durability and resistance to warping and cracking that outdoor tables have. STIGA Table Tennis tables in particular are good examples of high-quality indoor table tennis tables.
If you have a cool and dry place to play on and store your table, and you have no intention of ever bringing your table outside, we highly recommend you go with an indoor table. For your money, you can get a higher quality table with a more consistent and accurate bounce. Also, indoor tables are typically built with heavier materials. These are the best indoor tables at each price point:

Our favorite indoor tables include some of the most popular tables available on the market today. The Stiga Advantage is extremely popular due to it's low price and decent quality frame and playing surface. The 5/8-inch thick table top rivals many tables that are two or even three times as expensive. We highly recommend this table if you are looking to get a decent playing experience for a table below (or very close to) the $400 mark.
For an indoor table for a more serious ping pong player, the Joolar Tour 2500 is also a great choice. It costs a bit more than the Joola Indoor, but it features a much sturdier frame (thick steel legs and steel apron) in addition to a thicker and higher quality 1 inch top.
If you are serious about table tennis and willing to make a significant investment in an indoor ping pong table, the Stiga Expert Roller is a great choice. Weighing in at over 300 pounds, with a super heavy-duty steel construction and a solid 1 inch thick top, the Stiga Expert Roller offers a premium playing experience that competitive players will notice. It also comes with some nice convenience features including fully adjustable legs, and large 5-inch locking mag wheels for easy maneuverability.
Outdoor Ping Pong Tables
Outdoor tables usually are fitted with a thinner, composite-based playing surface that resists expansion and contraction due to weather conditions. They often also have larger wheels and water-resistant components to withstand the elements. This makes outdoor tables great if you plan to store your table in a humid or very warm/very cold space, or if you actually plan on storing your table outside.
Outdoor tables typically do not allow for as good of a playing experience as indoor ones. Due to the components used to make them weatherproof, they have a less accurate bounce, less consistency and typically are built from lighter weight materials because they have to be more maneuverable and easier to fold up. They tend to sacrifice playing experience for durability and resistance to temperature and humidity changes. For many players, this is a good trade-off - being able to play table tennis outside and not worry about cracking or warping easily is worth it. Below is a list of our favorite outdoor tables.

The Joola Nova DX is another fantastic budget table from Joola. It's consistently a best seller because it's a relatively durable and water-resistant table that is both tough enough for the outdoors but also light enough to be taken inside during the winter months. It offers a decent playing experience and is by far the most affordable outdoor table tennis table that is actually worth buying.
A step up from the Nova DX is the Kettler Champ 5.0 made by Kettler. This German-made table is equipped with Kettler's famous ALU-TEC technology - a patented technology built into the aluminum composite top that consists of special indentations that resist warping and control the consistency of the top during temperature and humidity changes. This completely waterproof table is a great investment and will last for many years to come.
The Cornilleau Sport 500m, often called the "Rolls Royce" of outdoor ping pong tables, is an outdoor table built with high-end materials that offers a superb playing experience. This premium table looks just as good as it plays. The bounce rivals the quality of indoor tables and is guaranteed to not degrade over time. If you're looking for the best outdoor table for you backyard regardless of price, this is the one to get.
