The Stiga Space Saver is a compact foldable ping pong table that is designed to deliver a competitive playing experience for those that do not have space to store or completely fold out a full-sized table. At 71-inches long by 40.5-inches wide, it is roughly two-thirds the size of a standard regulation size table. However, this table is the regulation height of 30-inches which gives it that familiar feeling of playing on a regular-sized table. The Stiga Space Saver is surprisingly high quality and comes with many features common only on high-end full-sized tables.

Table Construction

The Stiga Space Saver features a thick 5/8-inch MDF table top with silk screen striping. This thickness is common on many full-sized tables and gives the Space Saver nice consistent bounce that feels like a regulation table.

Stiga refers to the Space Saver as “Small But Mighty” with good reason. This table features an extremely solid frame made up of 1.25” square welded steel legs that have been powder-coated to prevent rusting. Each leg also comes with molded leg-levelers that will adjust to provide a perfectly flat playing surface and also prevent scratches to your floors. The Space Saver also features a rigid 1.25” steel apron to support the table top and diagonal supporting cross-beams to keep the frame from wobbling.

The Stiga Space Saver is more sturdy and has more features than many full-sized tables, let alone portable tables. The frame is remarkably well built and the table has many features that are just unheard of for a portable ping pong table.

Separate Table Halves

Similar to many full-sized tables, the Stiga Space Saver comes apart as two independent table halves. Each table is 35.5” long by 40.5” wide and is sturdy and completely free-standing. This is a really convenient feature that allows the space saver to be used for card games, parties, garage sales, etc. Many customers have even used them for dining tables. The tables can also be easily stored in a closet or underneath a bed or couch which is perfect for apartments and small homes. The two table halves can be easily joined back together with the net bracket.

Possible Downsides

Most of the possible downsides of the SStiga Space Saver have to do with quality control issues. Similar to many other tables, a small subset of customers receive tables with manufacturing defects or damage due to inadequate packing for shipment.

Some customers received tables with damage done to the side bars. Other experienced problems with stripped screws, broken support bars or chips in the top from shipping.
