The STIGA Titan Table tennis racket is an affordable paddle that is good for beginners and players on a tight budget. It’s a very lightweight racket that has decent rubber that can generate a good amount of spin. However, it’s got a low quality sponge which reduces the overall power of the paddle that can limit the player’s ability to put speed into offensive strokes. It’s a good paddle for beginners or people that just want an affordable, lightweight paddle that can put some decent spin on the ball.

This paddle is ITTF approved so you can use it for tournament play.

Balance and Overall Feel

The STIGA Titan features STIGA’s Triumph rubber. While this is a lower-grade rubber for STIGA paddles, it’s still capable of putting decent spin on the ball. The handle feels good and is very comfortable.

The Titan actually has quite good control and really allows you to put the ball where you want it. This is a great feature for a beginner paddle because ball placement is one of the most important skills for beginners to learn.

The build quality of this paddle is ok, but at this lower price-point, quality control issues can be a factor. There are reports of Titan’s falling apart, especially issues with the handle separating from the blade, so that should be something to consider.

The most noticeable downside of this paddle is the low-quality sponge. While it should be good enough for beginners, experienced players will definitely notice the lack of power with this racket due to the sponge.

Pros

  • Great control allows for consistent ball placement
  • Good rubber gives surprising amount of spin
  • Good value

Cons

  • Low-quality sponge lacks in speed/power
  • Potential quality control issues

Summary

The STIGA Titan is an affordable racket that is a great choice for beginners. It has great control, and let’s you put a surprising amount of spin on the ball. It definitely lacks in the speed and power department and unfortunately can have quality control issues.
